Join me in Cultivating Connection through the Art of Letter Writing.
The Inspiration and a Call to build Community
~~~When I was in college, one of my classmates told me, “I always carry a card and stamp with me because you never know when you’ll be inspired to write to someone.” Obviously, this was in the olden days before we carried computers in our pockets. I was profoundly moved by his devotion and for years followed his example. Handmade, handwritten cards…Who does this anymore?
I do. That’s who. I don’t make cards as often as I used to but I still collect cards and write letters regularly. I have continued with this tradition not only because people tell me how meaningful it is to them, but because I thoroughly enjoy sitting down with someone in mind and with the simplicity of a pen and a card I write ramblings of farm life and spiritual reflection. When the card is addressed, sealed and stamped I know I have created a precious token of connection.
I want to do more of this and I want to do it in community! So please come play with me. I’m creating two opportunities to explore this. Together we’ll make needle felted cards and fabric-paper-scrap textile cards to connect with loved ones.~~~
