Welcome to Souls Center, I am Julia

If you would have told me that I was going to, one day, open a spiritual classroom, I would have recommended you seek my psychiatrist-husband’s counsel. But here I am and I can tell you that creating Souls Center is the result of trying to answer one question, “What is the Divine and my relationship to it?”
Truth is, after decades of searching, I don’t know. More importantly, I don’t care. I’ve dipped, at least a toe, in everything and don’t subscribe to any one thing. It’s true that I miss plenty, refusing to invest my whole self in the study and practice of a single holy devotion. But it is also equally true that by taking in bits and pieces of as many practices of Spirit as I can, I’ve been able to craft a Spiritual way of being that is uniquely me.
This Julia-Way of Spirit served me well through a life-shifting event in 2008 when my four year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. There is nothing like walking to the edge of life holding one’s child over the abyss of death to question your every belief.
I spent years being a student of Death—reading everything I could get my hands on about the topic, holding vigils with families, attending numerous funerals of children, chatting online, becoming a hospice volunteer, offering a listening ear for hours on end, and developing language of presence versus platitude. This was the hardest, most rewarding and illuminating period of my life--all of it motivated by the fact that I might have to watch my daughter go into death before I was ready to. Fortunately, I was spared that particular nightmare. My daughter is cancer free.
That single life altering experience is the foundation upon which I stand in my devotion to teach people, women in particular, to awaken and listen to Spirit within, using tools of wisdom offered from an array of sources. Soul Centering is a lifetime process that is self-motivated and highly personal. Women have powerful insight, intuitive minds and creative expressions that deserve more attention and light. Souls Center was created to bring that light to a larger audience.
Join me in exploring the sacredness of you.
